Aman does need to chill and if you did not notice all those people you mentioned in your stats, the doctors, the engineers they were all from the US most of them citizens probably. We are talking about India not Indians.

As for shitting in public, I truly admire those who can do that, thats the true nature of humans and all other animals, why should anyone feel shame to shit?. Not very hygenic but hey Its India thats the least of the worries. Dont judge. Ib have met some pretty rude people all over the world, cant assign that tag to an entire nation

My goodness, this thread never ends :)

Aman, you are right in many things but I think you might come across just a little too strong and intense sometimes which is why this thread becomes a little bit of a bashing of heads sometimes.

As krf68 points out, there are many great travelling destinations and in each destination someone will love some things and hate others. The point of this forum is to get aquainted with other peoples thoughts and impressions rather than try to change them too much.

Travelling to a destination will do that!

Hello Sam,

Yeah you are right that sometimes I try so intense to prove my (right) point. Also I agree that everyone will came to know whats the truth when he will visit most parts of India. But really i have to change a little bit for TP as you said and i will try to change myself so as to fit here among you intellectuals. But still i would love to write all the truths and articles on India , may be at some other website related to Debates or discussions which will based only on hot discussions on any topic. TP is more appropriate for discussing travel related stuff. So travelers you can ask any sort of questions here related to travelling in India and i will try my best to guide you properly in that regard.

P.S. - Silence depends on surroundings.

I know there are many bad things about india, but i do not completely agree with krf68. The caste system is not so prevalent as it used to be many years ago. The people who have been supposedly deemed to the lower caste are now having many opportunities to improve their lives. Many are able to get jobs and provide for their families. Many efforts by the government to improve the lives of these lower caste people have been sucessful. Especially in south India, lower caste people are now getting an education, such as bachelors degrees and higher. They are becoming doctors and going into fields never before dreamed of. They have nice clothes, decent homes, and many other things. Many are able to even come abroad. So please dont try to drag us to the past by bringing up things about caste system and all. I personally am against this caste system, but i do realize that things are improving. I dont know where ur from krf68, originally, but if ur not Indian, u have no rite to say such things, b/c 1st of all u have not grown up there, u dont see the changes taking place in India, u just seem a little ignorant. I have grown up in India, I actually see the changes taking place in people's lives and all the improvements going on for the past 7 years, i speak from first hand experience, not just a few months of traveling from place to place. I travel a lot too, I have been to the U.S, Canada, some parts of Europe and even Asia. U have to live in India to know whats going on. Especially in South India, there are hardly any beggars on the streets, not like 10 years ago. And maybe Aman is a guy who loves his country and sees the positive things about it. It is true, Indians are in high positions in many countries, it is joked about that all types of people are found in a prison in the US but u will not find an Indian there, i dont know if thats true, could be. Its up to this generation to improve their country, only by getting an education. Also it is said that India will be a 1st World country at least by 2015, well now, that is a big thing!!

Another point krf68, have u been to the middle east? I dont mean to drag this topic in, but I am forced to do this. Try taking ur girlfriend there, places like Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudia Arabia, UAE, I have been to all these places, and have never felt degraded in any other country like I have in the middle east. They dont treat women right, so try going there before u bash India and the men here. Have u heard of honor killings? In India brothers and fathers love their daughters and sisters to death. But in the middle east women are killed each day b/c of no fault of their own. Brothers rape their sisters and kill them, mainly b/c they are repressed, this stuff is real, India is not as male dominant as u think!!!!! Women in India also do get an education!!!

Boy, me and my big mouth. Listen blue, i'm NOt out to bash india or indians.
It's just that first post made india sound like it's all ice cream and free money.
Sorry i gave my TRAVELLERSPOINT. Your argument of, "well u think the men
are bad here, you should go to..." i find sad. I DON'T HATE INDIANS! Once when
i was sick in india, a INDIAN man named Kuldeep drove me two hours one way on a horrible road to a hospital, got me to the front of the line, made sure i didn't have to pay anything, and then drove me the two hours back. I'm pretty sure that's the
nicest thing any stranger has ever done for me. I never said, "Indians are bad people". I'm just one man that came home from a trip to india with a bad taste
in my mouth about a few thing (and a good taste about more things)and i thought it might be ok to share on this website.
Should i keep to myself that four times in india men came up to my girlfriend and said, "I want to fuck you". Something that has never happened anywhere else in the world. I'm glad you think things are getting better with the caste system. Thats great
and i hope you're right but don't tell me it's no big deal. I think just a little caste system is sick. READ
Maybe some day blue we can sit on one of the beautiful beaches in southern india, drink a kingfisher and solve the problems of the world.

Your friend, KRF68

krf68, the caste system does concern me, and it makes me sick too. I am not a Hindu, and am not from any caste system, but it does concern me a lot, my ancestors were once Brahmins.I did not in any way hint that it is not a big deal to me, b/c it is a big deal, and I hate the caste system. It is obvious that it robs peoples lives and futures. I have hated the way castes have been dealt with in India. The government does try to change it, but its really up to the Indian people to completely bring down the walls of the caste system. I know it seems like the first post, made India look like heaven, but come on this is a travel site where one advertises their country rite? All countries have its problems, I have not found a place yet that is perfect in any way to live in. Have u? The places I have been to I find that they are either too crowded, too much crime, few opportunities, and etc. Also, I do realize that India has a lot of problems that need to be dealt with. But if I had a negative attitude about India and never chose to see the improvements that are taking place, I probably will be a depressed pessimistic individual. Anyways, no one else can be more excited and promote their country than an Indian. Also, what happened to ur girlfriend, I would be very upset too, and understand why u are, i guess there are weirdos here too. I hope we're sort of on the same page now.
Peace out,

This was my reply to a travel help seeker. I am writing it here for the information of the travelers reading here...

Hello malyn,

Welcome to Delhi !!!!! Its really so nice that you are visisting my city. So what type of training you have in delhi ? because i can tell you the places according to your tastes also.
But keep one thing in mind that Delhi is so big city with huge traffic that it's very difficult to can see all places in just 2 days (yeah you can if you touch and go). Sometimes you will find some place so interesting that you spend 3-4 or more hours at the same spot and then you will run out of time ! So keeping this in mind you should visit Red Fort, Old Fort (Puran Quila), Kutub Minar, India Gate, Lotus Temple, Connought Place, Chandni Chowk(only if you can cope with the traffic rush while going to old delhi). If you are related to education then you must visit IIT Delhi, the pioneer in technical education and DU and JNU, world class universites in delhi. You can go to Pragati Maidan if you are interested in latest happening. Also zoo is nearby. There are several museums, you can go if you like.
If you want to buy something related to computers then Nehru Place is the mecca of computer related trade in North India.
Dont forget to go to Gurgaon, near south delhi which has the latest City Centre/IT hub/Mega Malls and nearly western culture (hence go at night, 6-9 pm). You will enjoy it. If you need something or facing any problem you can call me at my mobile. (I know I have missed several other good places to visit in delhi.......may be some one else add these here)

There are many youth hostels and cheap hotels. as you have asked i am giving the info of the same :-

Y.M.C.A Tourist Hostel
Jai Singh Road, Delhi-1
Telephone :311915

Y.M.C.A Blue Triangle Family Hostel
Ashok Road
Telephone :352807

International Youth Centre

Have A Nice Trip To India..................Aman

That's a very interesting thread!!
TRy always to see the positive side of things cause it'll make you happier and life is too short make it nice to live with.India is a country where the reasons of it being so is very hard for a visitor like me to accept but if you've a meditative mind then all you can feel is the spiritual vibrations here(which is above all religions) then you completely focus just on it.
