I think India would be an amazing country to visit.

On a sadder note, I recently read where India has more people living in poverty (in absolute terms; i.e number of people) than any other country on earth.

You mean the amount of people living in poverty (for example) per 1000 inhabitants?

No, I mean the number of people - 400 million, more people than any other country.

Hi Frirends,
Recently I myself set a target to travel some more places in india......though as i alreadt said that visiting all places and historical sites in india is not possible in a short life time if u want to actually feel it with its culture.
But Recently I visited Varanasi - virtually the oldest city of earth. Earlier it was called Banaras and thousands of years it was called Kashi. It is on the bank of the holy river Ganga. Also i visited another spiritual site near varanasi i.e Sarnath - The Bhuddist site. Very peaceful and very old indeed. about 2500 years old as it was found. Also i visited Haridwar and Rishikesh. I strongly recommned these sites to anyone coming to india.

Also do visit india's official site www.incredibleindia.org
