Travel Forums North America Travel to USA with criminal record

I am just about to apply for a visa to the USA as I have a criminal record from 19 years ago.

The record was for possession with intent to sell or supply of 65g of marijuana. Learnt a big lesson and have been good ever since.

I am only looking to go to the USA for two weeks for a holiday does anyone know the success rate with trying to get a visa based on my information?

Vic,
Do a quick search here on TP. Top right of this page, type 'us travel criminal record' in the 'search' option.. You will see dozens of entries that have dealt with this issue. Click on several and see what members have said. Good Luck.

Also, no one can give you any accurate advice when you give no clue as to your nationality.

You're Australian and only coming to the US for a couple of weeks? Why do you even need a Visa?

Hi Terry,

apparently because of the record I must apply for a visa, they require me to submit a record and fingerprints from the australian federal police.

The US has no way to access your record unless you tell them. Your choice...

Good luck.
