I'm getting rid of the last few posts in this thread, as they don't really seem necessary or beneficial to anyone. Great if we can keep the thread on topic and helpful for the original poster 415femme!

I found it the best destination for travelers.El Salvador was the country that I was most excited about to visit,
mainly because it has an insane amount of right handed point breaks.El Salvador have great beaches, excellent weather and
very helpful people. You can enjoy the surfing long way between March to November.Republic of El Salvador is one of the two countries
(along with Belize) in Central America that have no coast on the Atlantic Ocean or Caribbean Sea, only the Pacific Ocean.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

All the Central American countries, all 7, have a lot to offer, often pickpockets and bag snatchers and the like as well as scammers who speak good English, congregate in the popular travel destinations and markets, such as Solola and Chichi in Guatemala, petty theft is endemic in bus terminals and on buses in Costa rica, billed on some websites as a 'crime free paradise' outside of San Jose city, do not denigrate one country and tout another on hearsay, Guatemala now has a card cloning epedemic in its ATM machines, has affected local travellers and ex pat residents alike, bring some USD, crisp new bills, as banks in Guatemala do not accept dog eared or older US bills, after arrival meet and talk to other travellers, often many perons who post on forums such as these give 'advice' and advice is cheap, experience is priceless. 2 negatives never make a positive. Happy Travels!!!!!! I live in in El Salvador and volunteer in teh development of rural eco and cultural tourism, fair trade for artisans, few tourists and travellers, except for our beautiful beaches at high seasons, welcome, we do not bite!!!!!! LOL:)

El Salvador has only a Pacific coastline, with the best surfing breaks and some of the friendliest people in all Central America

Belize has only an 'Atlantic' or Caribbean coastline, some beautiful Cayes and also Placencia and other resort spots

Both countries have interesting Mayan ruins, both countries are worth visiting
