Hey Sarah,

My name is Simon, I am not sure exactly what to do but i am planning on travelling down the east coast from Brisbane. I am currently in mackay in Queensland at the moment spending time with my sister but plan to start the whole travelling things in 2 weeks :)

Its good that you have a friend coming with you... i bet thats a relief... i am quite nervous but i suppose there are loads of people do it on their own so i will just go for it hopefully !!

Simon

yeah, i wouldve done it on my own but im even happier that such an amazing friend wanted to share it with me too! but going solo is just as fun i reckon, ive been told nothing about good things when it comes to meeting people and falling into groups/making friends etc!

whats queensland like at the moment? ive heard most parts are still fine!

Queensland is ok where I am and it was good in Brisbane so not spotted any lasting damage. Brisbane was really nice and big place but where I am now is just so hot and humid cause it's in the tropics... But also great cause in the bay where I'm staying you get dolphins coming in and turtles which is amazing.

Simon x

we really REALLY want to head up towards tropics weather! thats probably what we're going to do after melbourne, we're staying there for a bit but it doesnt make much sense to start out our trip in the parts of australia that are heading into the colder season.

Will anyone be in Sydney in April? I fly in on the 14th.

Hey Skycastles,

I fly into Sydney on the 20th April, I'm travelling alone and it's also my first time, so meeting up with someone would be cool!!! I have no set plans with regards to travelling around, quite happy to go with the flow!!

Hi Jem,

Sounds cool. Have you booked accommodation yet? I'm still looking into it. Have you heard of any good hostels?

Not sure if you or your friend are fans but I recently got tickets to go see Usher in Concert in Melbourne on the 20th of March it should be a great show.

Hi Skycastles,

No I haven't looked into it yet, I'm heading to NZ first for 5 weeks and have only booked my first hostel for when I arrive in Auckland, the rest I'll probably do as I go, probably just before I leave for Sydney!! I like being...er... spontaneous (unorganised) lol! Hostelworld is an excellent website and has some great suggestions for good hostels.
