I'm sure this has come up before, but the advice given seems to be a little confusing!!!
I'm planning to use a prepaid mastercard for when I'm abroad (travelling to NZ, Australia, Cambodia, brief stay in the US) as I hear this is the best idea for withdrawing cash etc!
Can anyone suggest a good cashcard to go with? There are a lot to choose from and I'm not sure which would be the best for me. I'm currently looking at Caxton, is this a good one to use?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
In my opinion, using your debit/ATM card is the best. There are ATMs all around the world now that accept Cirrus and PLUS. No matter if you chose to use an ATM card or pre-paid card, just make sure you have a credit card handy for the unexpected and flexibility.
I've been looking at the Caxton card too as it does seem one of the best ones out there for fees abroad etc.
Might be worth looking on moneysavingexpert. co.uk, I had a look and theres loads of advice on the best cards to take abroad travelling.
I liked the idea of the Caxton because it seems you only pay a fixed rate exchange fee, no others. Still debating tho lol!
