Hello,I will go in London on February and I need your help.I will stay at Albany Hostel which is near to Earls court tube. But I think that the specific tube station does not work.(or it is closed)If anyone can inform me about it ,I would appreciate.Thank you very much
Its not closed, its fine, its just at weekends that there is disruption because they tend to do work on the lines then. The nearest station is well close anyway so dont worry, there will be no problems. You'll find that it can be quicker to walk to your location if it is quite close and is also nicer than the tube!!
dont worry, it'll be fine.
Also, only half of the station is closed - Earls Court has two stations on top of each other (District & Circle lines above, Piccadilly line below), and it's only the District/Circle part of the station which has engineering work at weekends at the moment.
The London Underground (tube) website is http://tube.tfl.gov.uk/ so you can check the specific dates and arrangements, although sometimes they don't advertise too far in advance in case things change
Hi there, talking about London... I'll be there in another 2 mths time. Wil lbe residing in Kingston Road, SW London.
Heard that the nearest tube will be Wimbledon stop am I right?
Anyway, what's the place of interest in South London? And how's the job market there in London?
I'll be holding a UK Working Holidaymaker entering UK.
Mind a lil advise?
As you can imagine, there are loads of Kinston Roads in London, especially South West London so unfortuantely i'm not sure.
With regards to work, there are loads of jobs to find here. Outside tube stations in London in the morning there is the magazine TNT that has loads of job vaccancies just for travellers. Its a travellers paper that comes out weekly. Its free too. I work with 10 peple that all got a job from this paper/magazine, South Africans, Kiwi's and Aussies. As long as you speak quite ood English ou'll be snapped up sharpish for something!
