Hey hows it going my fellow travelling enthusiasts!!! (L.A.M.E )
Okay so luckily I have some friends with a boat. Now we plan to sail from the Whitsundays in August up the east coast of australia (whitsundays, magnetic island, hitchenbrook, dunk, cairns, port douglas) from there we will join a rally to the Louisiades in PNG, from there we branch out on our own again heading north through some primitive areas and on to Palau. From there to Davao in the Philippines and then island hopping from the east side of the Philippines to the west to Palawan Island. Then Subic bay, then Hong Kong, then to exotic Pearl River in China where we dock for a while. Should be a 6 month voyage. (they are heading back after this but I'm thinking of backpacking china for a while)
So my question is visas?! my friends have fair experince in sailing (circumnavigating australia, across the tasman a few times) but nothing like this. How easy is it to rock up to a port in any of these places? how much notice needs to be given? and can you just get visas for the countries when u arrive and how long for each country do they provide them for?
Also if anybody has been around these places (by boat or not) is there anything we absolutely must see?!
Much love lou
