Hi, first time on the website, I wonder if anyone can help me.
I'm goint to Australia for the fist time in February with my girlfriend and am trying to plan a self drive itinery.
Can anyone tell me how long it would take, approximately, to drive non-stop from:
Cairns to Airlie Beach
Airlie Beach to Hervey Bay.
Hervey Bay to Sydney.
I'm only going for a month so I want to try and fit in as much as possible.
P.S. And if there is anything I should see along the way I would be grateful for any ideas.

here two distance planning tools you might want to try. If the addresses don't work, just type search words like "australia distance planner" or " australia distance calculatore" and you should find them.

Make sure you always plan for plenty of petrol from one stop to the other. - then go into 'orbit' etc. until you find this beautiful distance travel planner.

Enjoy your trip to Australia and Happy Christmas!

If you're going to Cairns I think it is worthwhile to head north first, to Port Douglas, and also to check out the Daintree Forest and try snorkelling or diving at the Great Barrier Reef. On the way down, Fraser Island is definitely worth a visit or even to stay. It's easy to get to, an $80 water taxi ride from memory. Byron Bay is worth a visit too. I think Port Douglas is less than 2 hours North of Cairns from memory, not even that.
