PolandExplorer has indicated that this thread is about Poland

I am flying to Poland with wizzair on Sunday from London Luton and am a little unsure about what is permitted in my carry on hand luggage.

I would like to take my laptop and camera in the same carry on case. Is this allowed or will they be seen as two peices of hand luggage?

carry-on baggage (hand baggage)

Passengers are allowed to carry only one piece of hand baggage with the maximum dimensions 55x40x20 and not exceeding 10 kilograms. In addition, passengers can carry the items listed below:
a coat or blanket
cellular phone
reading material for the flight
for children under the age of two: food, foldable baby carriage or a small crib
a pair of crutches for the physically disabled

Should the weight or the size of the hand baggage exceed the aforesaid limits, the baggage will be transported as checked baggage and a baggage fee will be collected.

Passengers carrying more than one piece of hand luggage will not be allowed to proceed through security and will be required to go back to the check in desk, repack or dispose of the additional pieces of hand luggage.

Liquids in hand baggage are subject to the following government-imposed restrictions:
The liquid is in a container with a maximum volume of 100ml

All liquid containers meeting the maximum volume of 100ml can be fitted comfortably into a transparent, re-sealable 1 litre plastic bag, measuring 20cmx20cm.

The plastic bag should be presented separately at security

You will be required to dispose of liquids which do not meet the above requirements at the airport security station.

Hi and thanks

But - also on the Wizzair website it states that laptops are counted as a separate peice of luggage - so I am not sure what to do!

Hi Lauren - Dave doesn't leave until Sunday and it's still only Friday or Saturday for 100% of the world. I guess we'll see what really happens when he actually does catch his flight.

Sorry Dave, I can't help you with Wizzair. I do know we've been able to put our camera stuff and computer in the same bag and have it considered a single carry-on item. But, that's been within the US.

Good luck and hopefully, happy travels. ;)

Hi there!

Most airline companies allow you to carry laptop on top of the carry-on luggage allowance.
However, this has changed in case of some low cost airlines in Europe, such as Wizzair. In order words you will have to squeeze your laptop into your carry-on bag. They will of course will ask you at the security check to take it out and screen it separately. But you can't carry it under your arm anymore.

Enjoy Poland!

Also get your boarding ticket printed out as they might have started charging extra for checking. You will just have to present your printed boarding ticket and drop your check-in luggage at the counter.

hi to all and thanks for your helpful advice - I fly tomorrow morning so all will become clear then.

Found what I hope will be a good and cheap hostel to stay in Gdansk as prices are low this time of year - only 50zolty per night including breakfast and own room.

Looking forward to exploring more of Poland and the Baltic coast.
