I am Moving to the UK on a holiday maker visa for a few years and am hitting Europe for a few months prior. I am Travelling through Sweden, Serbia, Greece, Croatia, Venice (short stay), Paris and then finishing in Sunny Manchester ;p.
I Like museums, cafes, sight seeing and the occaisonal splurge on a night out. I am hoping to mix it up between Budget Hostels, and again, the occasional splurge on an self catering apartment (like off stayz.com not the Hilton, 100Euro per night Max!)
I know it will vary, but an overall budget of 140/150 EUR per day it what i was thinking?
Please give any advice!!! Will be much appreciated!
Your budget will be well enough to have a comfortable trip.
Sweden, Venice, Paris and England will be much more expensive than Serbia, Croatia or Greece. So, in the cheaper countries you will be able to afford nicer rooms and more elegant restaurants. In the more expensive you may have to do a bit more search on accommodation on hostel or other search engine / booking websites offering cheap lodgings and to eat maybe at more simple restaurants and use public transport vs taxis.
In case you haven't booked your flights yet, you can find a comprehensive list of low cost carriers in europe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_low-cost_airlines
Try to book them as early as possible and read conditions/small print before booking the ticket.
Have a sunny trip!
Thank you so much.. i was getting really confused as some people were saying not enough and others way too much. :-)
