Harlow has indicated that this thread is about Canada

Me and a friend are hoping to go to Toronto for a year in January. We both have a considerable amount of savings but would like to work over there, I was wondering if anybody knew the best way to go about this? Should we look for work while we're still here or is it easier to find work when over there?

Where are you coming in from? There's no harm in applying for jobs prior to arriving, but like in most places it would be much easier to land an interview/job once you get here. Look at temp agencies like Kelly Services to start you off or walk into a restaurant/bar. The hospitality industry is always the easiest to get started in.. at least it's a means to get you going. There's a lot of competition in Toronto too, but that doesn't mean you won't be able to find a job because there are lots of openings too!

Good luck with your search and if you have any other questions, let me know :)

Thank you Rhea!

We're coming in from England. I've been looking into working at a summer camp over the summer (obviously) Do you know if these are worthwhile? I've heard good things and bad things about doing this.

Thanks
