Yeah thanks for the advice sandar!!!I was thinking Melbourne As my mums friend said I can stay with her for a bit which will save money and I can hopefully find a job forthe first few months!! Heard it's better down therefor fruit picking too as I want my second year!!!
Nadia, so far best I've found is through qantas with a months stop off in thailand as I'm going to the FMP 12th sept!! Not sure though as i dont know what qantas is like and everyone else seems to be flying emirates!!! Yep I'm so excited changed my mind about going last may and regret it then decided that it was defo what I wanted at Xmas!!! Hopefully il have flights booked on Tuesday!! xx
hey girls well hope we keep in touch and go out for some drinks when were all out there!!!
Yep deffo!!! hopefully I will have my flights booked tomorrow!! xx
I'm so excited for everyone! Although i'm finding it hard to decide what to do, have changed my plans and am now going to go slightly earlier in october and start in Cairns and work my way down the coast. I know it's not the most ideal time of the year to do that, but have been told by my Uncle who lives in Oz that Melbourne will be too cold to enjoy in october, which was what I originally planned to do. Fingers crossed! x
haha thats the only reason mine really hadnt been booked as i was between cairns and melbourne to start with, have now decided the opposite of you and think melbourne to start! haha!! have you looked into flights or anything yet? xx
Arrrghh I just can't decide what to do!! Now i'm wondering if I should do what you're doing!
What made you decide to start in Melbourne? And when are you actually leaving for Oz? Sorry if you've answered these questions already - i feel like i've replied to so many people's different threads i'm getting confused!
I have looked at flights. Was gonna book with STA but they don't seem to offer a flight from Bangkok (which is where i'm planning to stop for a couple of days) to Cairns - but then again I haven't made up my mind yet asto where i'm gonna start. Arrrrghhh! Kayak is a really good comparison site, so may just find my flights on there.
What about you? xx
I also have similar plans to you. Im planning on leaving the UK for Oz in september but think for i may aswell stop off for a month on the way but cant decide where, was thinking of route 66 or thailand.
I am yet to book my flights yet as im not sure where to go, my friend is currently travelling and has settled in Airlee Beach at the moment and my parents live a little south of melbourne but want to experience a proper travel experience and not rely on my parents.
Haha I was the same, decided on Melbourne I think just coz I wanna work when I get there, I cam stay with my mums friend and just get settled when I get there, then after sydney I was thinking I can travel then hopefully head back down to Melbourne to settle maybe and work?? To be fair I have no real plan but I was really torn between cairn and Melbourne, I just thought when I get there I don't want to rush to et to Sydney for Xmas!!! Haven't booked my
Flights yet but best I've found is with qantas for £720 stoping
Off in Bangkok for a month, will leave start of sept rob around the 4th as that's the date ie been working too!! Haha know what you mean about asking the same questions! I've spoke to that many people I forget who is doing what so don't worry!!!
Hey Harry, when in sept you looking to go?? Good you got
Family there as a fall back xx
I'm coming over to australia at the end of september on an Ultimate Oz package. I can't wait and booked the package to start off as I am travelling along and wanted to meet as many people as poss straight away.
After the first week in Sydney i plan to do a trip up the east coast, so if anyone needs a travelling buddy please let me know.
Does anyone know if it's best to book a campervan or just bus up the coast?
Oh, Mark, just asked you in my other thread where you'll be starting in Oz, but i can see from here you've already told me!
I will start in Cairns at the beginning of October and work my way down the east coast. So may bump into you at some point. Would be good to keep in touch.
I've heard that getting a campervan is loads of fun. I would do it, but as i'm travelling by myself i'm not sure if i'll have met people I want to spend so much confined time with straight away, or even have met people full stop!! I've heard the greyhound is quite a goodway of getting around. I'm gonna look into that.
Hi Harry. I have family too in Melbourne and I know what you mean about not wanting to rely on them. I plan to stay with them for a little bit, but do want to get out there, meet new people and be independent. Both Route 66 and Thailand sound amazing, it's really up to you. But I think Thailand will be A LOT cheaper, so if you're looking to save money maybe go there. Have you made any other plans yet? Where abouts are you both from? xx
