Just got married and sold my house and am going to travel the world for a year with the wife, we are starting in Thailand in February, what I would like to know is if anyone knows how I can find out the dates of the full moon party so we can plan our travel around making it to the one in Feb???
Ps we will be all over the islands for a month so if anyone wants to join us for a few beers et al let me know and we can arrange something.
I'll be there for the January 6 party in Koh Phangan - my second time to Thailand & first time to the party - realize that there are about 8,000-10,000 people that show up annually. Here are some links that I have used:

For the full moon party, the actual party takes place on Koh Phangan island - the only way to get there is via speedboat or ferry from Koh Samui - To get to Koh Samui, another island, you can fly on Bangkok Air to Samui or you can get a ferry to Samui from Surat Thani (served by Bangkok Air & Thai Airways - which earns United miles if you're mileage junkie like myself) - The business class airfare is only about 15US more than the Economy class airfare & I have been recommended to take Business because you get use of the lounge (free food/drinks/internet access at the airports, not to mention nicer flights & a better in-flight meal).
Airfare in-country is RIDICULOUSLY cheap in comparison to airfare in the US, but the true budget travellers use local transportation (buses/train, etc) but I'm only going for 3 weeks, so I don't feel like spending 12 hours on a train when I could be doing the same thing for 50 bucks more on a plane.
PS - congrats on the wedding and having a wife cool enough to just pack up and travel!
If your going to the full moon party from samui, I suggest you try to find the Swedish bar off the Chaweng beach area, just ask around. All the scandinavian bars are in the same location. They organise a Speed boat round trip from a private jetty to the party. This means that you dont have to wade through the thousands of people trying to board the boats at the main ferry pier. The price is a little more expensive but they also organise an all you can eat barbecue at their bar before you go. (food was great) and also return transport from Chaweng to the pier.(this is very important as I heard many stories of people returning from the party and finding themselves stranded at the pier with a good hour to two hour walk back to your accomodation, (depending how drunk you are)) All round very well organised and very accomadating even if your not Scandinavian) take care have fun.
