Hi Guys,

I just got to Oslo two weeks ago from the America. I did a lot a research on Norway prior to coming and I knew I would love it. And as it so happens...I DO! I mean I really, really DO!

Any ideas on how an American can live/ work in OSLO?

Thanks!

Hey Andicat,

Hello from a half American living in Oslo :) It's not a bad little city, eh?! Truth be told, finding 'skilled' work is not easy in this country for non-native speakers. There's plenty of bar work going, but not sure that's what you are after? Do you have the paperwork in order to work here? I found getting the personal number pretty easy, but I based my application on my other citizenship, which is Dutch and thus part of the EU. I'm not 100% plugged into what the requirements are for Americans, but have a few friends from America that have moved here and have managed to get it sorted. Have you been to the Police Station on Storgata? They deal with all us foreigners. It's the place with the long line outside at 7 in the morning
