I'm living in Calgary, but I might be moving to Banff, Alberta, if everything turns out alright! Does anyone have any tips for living *beside* Banff? Besides don't feed the bears . The funny thing is, I suddenly just got sick of living in a city like Calgary, and craved the fresh Canadian Rocky Mountain air ... again.
Woops! I forgot to ask a very important question- I'm taking the greyhound there, but I have a lot of stuff to take with me. How is the best way to get to and from the Greyhound station in Banff (it's located in the middle of the town) and the Buffalo Mountain Lodge property? If someone knows Banff well or knows what to do, then I would really appreciate some help. Thanks.
You're a going to have a great time. I lived in Lake Louise for 9 months and it has to be one of the best times of my life. My tip to you is the just go crazy and have fun. The outdoor activities are great and the nightlife can be even better (but be careful, it's the STD capital of canada). I never lived in banff, but would often go spend a day or night there. I can tell you that hoodoos is a very nice club that can be a lot of fun. I also like the rose and crown because it has live music.
To get from the bus stop to where you live, i'd suggest just taking a cab. I'm not sure exactly where the place you mentioned is, but banff is small enough that it a cab is never too much.
Hope you enjoy yourself.
Safe sex :P STD capitol of Canada dude. GOtta protect yourself
I was joking . . . I'm not working at Buffalo Mountain Lodge . . . that's crazy . . . They act pretensious and then they're all hicks. But I am moving to Banff- I figured it out, though, I'm getting dropped off by some family. I should warn people, esp. Canadians, who want a Rocky Mountain job, that Banff Springs Hotel is full of transients, so don't apply there, and their on-the-job benefits suck. Anyway, I was given a link to a website about living in Banff: www.banfflife.com It has some basic information about moving to Banff, including the weather and seasons. Thanks for the replies, but I'm not a whore, so you didn't need to warn me about that .
I've really learnt sommething about Banff through reading this thread
STD's have nothing to with being a whore. Everybody has sex. Its the most normal thing in life. And its just a fact that theres a lot of people that dont have safe sex and just meet the wrong person. Maybe Dutch people are to open about that sort of stuff for most people. Dunno. And yes Bannf is really small. JHust take a cab for cheap to get to your dest with loads of stuff
