So, I was wondering. I was in Finland from January 5th to Feb 20th visiting someone I was and still currently am dating. I went on the Visa Waiver Program but did not stay the full 90 days. Is there any way I can go back without having to wait the 6 months to return?
Thanks very much,

Dani

Are you from the US? ... cause I'm not entirely sure where you saw or read that you have to wait 6 months to return. If you are going for tourism .. which is pretty much your case, every time you enter you are granted 90 days regardless if you stay 1 or 89. Unless you're talking about applying for a residency visa? o_0

Finland is part of the schengen area, which means there's a 90 in 180 day rule for many visitors. That's where the 6 months is coming from I think.

One of the people who know the schengen rules well will probably be along to help.

Did you go straight to Finland from the US?

If so, this was your first entry into the Schengen area and your 180 day period started on January 5th. From this date on you can spend 90 days in all of Schengen in a period of 180 days. You've been in Finland for 46 days, so you still have 44 days left. The 180 day period is over in the beginning of July (roughly, since I didn't count the days), which means you can go back in May but have to leave in July.

If you've been somewhere else in the Schengen area before you went to Finland, or after you left there, you have to count again.

Lauren, I don't think the mod thinks you are incapable at all! Your reply to mojorob was flagged for being a tad rude (there's an 'inflammatory' option when flagging posts). I was struggling myself to figure out why you wrote that, but then figured you must have thought Rob was trying to disrespect you or something with his answer. I rather think (am pretty sure) he was referring to one or two members who are very knowledgeable on Schengen questions and who post regularly here, just to re-confirm. I'd typically recommend anyone trying to get visa advice that forums are not necessarily the most reliable sources, so having a few people confirm something is just added security for the person asking the question.

Hope everything is all cool!

Yes, that's right Sam - I was particularly referring to t_maia who is very knowledgeable with schengen requirements, as well as a couple of others on here. There was certainly no disrespect or rudeness in my reply, and I was a little shocked to see the reply.

I'm sorry Lauren, but there was a reason we removed your post. That kind of language or calling folks names is just not allowed here. As far as I can see Rob did absolutely nothing to insult you either...
