I hope someone can help me!! I have tickets for the games from the 19th - 27th August but cannot find any accommodation in the city. I don't know what to do!!
I am desperate. There are 2 of us travelling and I am willing to consider any type of accommodation.
I hope someone can help
Dear Joice, that is because the Olympic committee has booked all available space. We
might have a 2 star hotel on the ouskirts of the city.
Interested? what is your budget?

Thank you for your response. I would be very grateful if you could find me any accommodation. My budget isn't fixed so at this stage, I would consider all costs.
I really hope you can help me.
I checked the accommodation that is available through Travellerspoint (the same that is available through Simon's site btw + a few thousand more) and there doesn't seem to be anything available for online booking. The budget accommodation area is constantly getting new hostels, hotels, etc.. added though, so something may come up before you need to travel. Otherwise, you may need to find a directory of hotels in Athens and start phoning them!!
The accommodation is not avilable through our website but thorugh our contacts in Greece. I have sent your inquiry directy to the hotel and will get a reply shortly.
just came about your mail by chance.try the surrounding islands,f.e agistri just one hour away from athens, with good travel connections just 1 hour every day many times.from there you have the metro and the electrical train to the sight.it,s quick and you are in your leisuretime on an island instead of athens centre.go to my web www.rosyslittlevillage.com and to the informationpage about the island www.imstudies.gr there are rooms still available.....
I was also going to go to Athens for the Olympics (already bought three tickets) but I'm undecided now after finding it so hard to find somewhere decent to stay.
There's probably still places to stay, as usually only ten percent of accomodation is available on the internet, and also for things like this extra beds/places usually become available closer to the date, it's just that obviously it's better to have it all sorted in advance.
However, have you thought about camping? My mate looked into that and the first site he contacted still had plenty vacancies so I don't think you'd have any trouble if you're prepared to camp. The only trouble is they were charging fifty euros a night per tent which I thought was a bit of a rip-off.
