How would you describe Singapore & HK?

not as a coutries a such - more like a fascinating modern trading cities. Definitely worth to visit - but too busy, crowded and commercialised to my taste. They are not the cheapest but worth coming back while being in the region.

How long were you in HK & Singapore for ?

a week each - not long enough. Certainly HK needs a little more than that.

I was in Malaysia 4 times - 3 to 5 days each time. Penang, Melaka, KL. We were trying always the cheapest options with an accomodation - still always RM35. Food was not as readily available as in Thailand and my Thai girlfriend preferred to go rather hungry than eat food she did not like.

If we stayed long enough we would find some cheaper and better places - but initial experience put us off.

I wanted to see some mosques - unfortunately (unlike in other muslim countries) I was not allowed inside.
