Hi people,

So after much deliberation, and various shortcomings, I have finally booked up my travels! :D I did originally really want to visit Japan (I am learning the language and do wish to work over there at some point), but due to recent disasters and the fact that it would add nearly a £1000 onto my budget, I decided to put a rain check on the plan to visit there, and go there when I can a few years down the line.

If anyone has seen any of my other posts, I am sure they will have seen the original locations I was planning, but this package was less than 2k for flights so I am quite happy with that.

However, most of my original plans made it onto the list so here is my list of destinations:

Fri 12th August - Singapore

Fri 16th September - Thailand

[Make own way to] Hong Kong

Mon 21st Nov - Sydney

Sat 17th Dec - Christchurch

[Make own way to] Auckland

Thur 19th Jan - Rarotonga

Sun 12th Feb - Los Angeles

[Make own way to] Las Vegas

To say I am excited is an understatement.

If anyone is in any of these places at any of these points and wants to meet up, feel free, I would love to meet up with people. I am a first time traveller and doing this on my own.

Cheers, Matt

Sounds good, my first overseas trip was on my own and I loved doing it that way :) I only visited one country though, the USA, managed to see 13 different states though and include some wonderful experiences that I'd always dreamed about - eg. the Grand Canyon, staying on a dude ranch, and experiencing the Native American culture. Travelling independantly is the only way you will truely be free to explore the world as you want to. I now have a husband, and while we have some wonderful travel experiences together, we've both at times had to compromise for each other!! I can offer you advice on NZ (I am a Kiwi myself), Aussie and the USA, so if you have any specific questions about these countries let me know

Sounds good to me! I would love to see as much of the states as possible at some point, but my interest at the moment is definitely seeing as much as possible.

Thanks, I appreciate it, I may need to take you up on that offer at some point, thanks :)
