Hi. I'm looking for a few people to join me on a couple of tours I've booked, to share costs and hopefully make it more fun! As follows:
Amman - Dana on June 13th
I'm booked a mini-bus from the Palace Hotel in Amman to take me down the King's Highway to Dana, via Wadi Mujib, The Dead Sea, Kerak Castle etc. I'll be staying at Dana for 1 night and going on to Petra the next day after doing a hike or 2 at Dana, but if you wanted, after I am dropped off, you could continue straight on to Petra (Wadi Musa) that day. This will be way more fun than a (relatively) boring bus from Amman direct to Petra on the Desert Highway. (Also, it's a good way to get to Dana if that's where you're heading, as the only alternative is an expensive taxi.) It will cost 22JD each and I assume the maximum would be around 8 people.
Wadi Rum June 16th
To make sure I get a tour which last the whole day and not just a few hours, and to get a better price than is available at the Visitor's Centre, I've booked a full-day tour with Guides of Wadi Rum, by jeep, as follows:
Meet at Visitor's Centre at 09:30 (The bus from Wadi Musa arrives at 08:30).
Visit the Nabatean Temple, Lawrence's Spring, Kazali Canyon, Burdah Rock Arch, Um Froth Rock Bridge, Little Bridge. Stop for lunch. Drive to Burrah Canyon and do hike (90 mins, I think?). Visit Lawrence's House, Anfashieh Rock Inscriptions, the Sand Dunes and then finally stop to watch the sunset before heading back.
This tour will be 45JD each and the maximum is 6 people. That doesn't include accommodation, so you will have to pay for that separately. (I have booked a night in a campsite near the Visitor's Centre - I think it was around 25JD?)
So, if you will be in Jordan mid-June, and you fancy joining me on either of these trips, let me know!
