Well people,

We got our act together and made the chatting function fully functional now, so no more constant logging off. A case of paying the registration fee, which is now taken care of.

If you're in the mood for chatting, you can just log in to the chat and sit in the chat room until someone comes along. I tried this several times while it was still in testing and we managed to get quite a few people chatting away a few times. Unfortunately, being logged off every 10 minutes made it very hard to just sit there and wait while off doing other stuff. No more!!!

Let the discussions roll on :)

Thanks, Peter.

Hmm... what times do you guys normally chat?
The Online User counter is always zero for me.

Good stuff. Cheers Pete, that constant loging on/off got a tad annoying!

One favour - can you get it to open in a new window? At the moment it opens in the current window, meaning if you want to keep on the forums as well, you need to open them up again from scratch (and Re login).

A who's online on the forums/in the chat room option (voluntary so you can hide it if you wish) may also help to initiate convo's, as at the moment it's hit and miss if you find anybody.

One other query/idea - is it possible to be alerted if someone else joins the chat if its not your current window??? Otherwise you have to keep constantly checking the chat window to see if anybody else has logged on...

You've got me confused now Rich.

Firstly, the chat should open in a new window! It does for me at least.

Secondly, there is a 'User's Chatting' area, so you can see who is online there. Not for the forums yet - a slightly more complex task unfortunately, but will be done sooner or later :)

And yes, you should have a sound alert when someone joins the room and you are on a different window.

As for chatting times, it's only been pretty irregular so far. Usually well past midnight for me! I'll log in regularly now though and just let it sit there, so should be available to chat a lot more.

Good work Peter - now let's hope it gets used.

It doesn't open up a new window for me either.

Rich, you can easily open a new window by either right-click on the link, select "Open in New Window", or press shift and click on the link. (Internet Explorer only)

No new window for me either.

I must say a huge "ditto" on the no new window thing. Would it have to do with the type of browser that we're using or is it just a bug in the chat system thingy? (yes, that's right, I know all the technical terms!)

Katie ;)
