Hello to everyone!
I'm heading over to Oz in late Sept (starting in Cairns) on a WHV. I need to work along the way and I was wondering, from people who are currently in Australia or have travelled there recently, what the work situation is like? (not farm/fruit picking work but central office/hospitality etc jobs)
I'm from the UK and it's not great at the moment so I was wondering how difficult/easy it is to get hold of temping work. Most of my experience is in one industry and I'm wondering whether this will have an effect on getting a job.
Any advice/stories/knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
Recently I've been looking at office jobs for the australian government in various parts of the country. It's really easy, just have a look on the local government websites, so say Cairens were im starting out is in Queensland, so all I did was type into Google, Queensland Jobs haha and found the Queensland state governments website with all there jobs on.
I'm unsure yet whether they take foreign nationals on when they recruit but it cant hurt to ask! There are temp positions in office/admin work to so thats what ill be looking at myself.

Thanks for info Chris!
Yeah, I'd like to get a nice office job - 9 to 5 would do me fine lol! Think I might apply for anything and everything - as long as it's a job, it's some money, most important thing!
I've been told www.seek.au.com is a good one to look at too.
When you landing in Cairns?? I'm going to be there form late Sept! Be good to meet up if you're around at the same time!
