Hi. I'm a first time traveller, 19 year old female. Am going to be in Thailand starting in mid-April hopefully to beginning of September. Would prefer not to do it alone, at least to start with. Would prefer another girl really. Also similar age and first time traveller, as clueless as me. Don't know what I'd be doing. I could look at some Buddhas, go to some beaches and bars. Would definitely like to go to the Islands like Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Samui as it just has to be done really. Just want to go with the flow really and do whatever. Am not aversed to other SEA countries. Would prefer people who aren't likely to refer to themselves as 'mad fer it'.
hi amy, wish i could go with! i've been before and just wanted to recomend ko chang as far as the island scene. it's a fairly quiet island and well worth getting to. you go through Trat, south and ferry out. there are some wonderful small family ran spots, nothing too crazy. just a mellow place to get some peace when it's time...and the time will come. also, should you need a special place to stay when you first get to Bangkok, please find your way to the Shanti Lodge. it's off of Sri Ayutya by the national library(sorry if the spelling is rusty). It's an oasis in the heart of the massive Bangkok. Kim and Happy are special people. best of luck and feel free to contact me if you ever need...
thanks Rachel. Ko Chang has been recommended before, I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the tip about the Shanti Lodge as well. It sounds cool.
