Hello all,

I am a first time traveller hoping to begin my travels in Asia at the back end of this year, depending on when i have raised the funds to go

Currently I am hoping to start in India, taking in Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa and Kerala. I then was to head to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam an maybe Laos before moving into China. After travelling in China i am planning on going to Malaysia and Indonesia before heading on to the New Zealand and Australia. I was thinking of travelling for around a year before getting to Oz.

I have little knowledge of travelling in these countries, although i am obviously researching as much as i can.

Has anyone who has been on a trip similar to this or is planning a trip like any advicde for me?

Any information on whether this sort of route is feasible, worthwhile and achievable would be great! Also help on finances would be appreciated.

Cheers! Joe

Hi Joe,

The route sounds great, however I am not sure what time frame you are planning.
This is some estimate how much time you would need for each region:

- India: min 2-3 months
- Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia: 2-3 months
- China: Yunnan, Guanxi provinces: min 1-2 month
- Malaysia: 2 weeks
- Indonesia: it very big, but let's suppose you fly only to Bali, min 2 weeks.

If you have only 2-3 months, I would just go to one region and try to explore that to the fullest.

Hope this gives you some help planning your trip.

Hi,
Your plan sounds really delicious to me.
However I have not been all these places yet.
I have been travelling only in Thailand and Australia from this selection.
So if you have some questions I am willing to share my own expeariances in letter.
