Hi people - well I am currently enjoying my south american adventure - however I want to travel around Peru at the beginning of April (or give or take a week, a bit earlier/later) for around a month (give or take 2 weeks - I´ll be on a low budget - mostly camping - and getting off the beaten track - no hostels if can help it! I want to get a group together who isn´t afraid to rough it and who, like me, are adventurous people!! Macchu Pichu is ofcourse on the list of many archeological and sacred sites I want to see - but according to Lonely Planet (a book I have recently read which is a lifesaver) there are many more!!! Eventually in May or June at some point I am heading back down to Buenos Aires, Argentina to live and work!! If I can squeeze it in - I hope to dash down to southern Argentina and Chile for a couple of weeks around May time but am unsure - as I like to wake up in a place - not really knowing where I am going next and see what each day brings!!!
Anyway if people are definitely up for this - drop me a message!! Hope to hear from some fellow travellers soon!!
I will be in chachapoyas peru during may-june, hanging with a shaman friend around spiritual ruin sites.
chachapoyas is definately one of the absolute best places in peru for hiking/backpacking/out-of-the-tourist-world.
if you would like to meet up, or if you would like more info about chachapoyas, let me know .
I am currently in Quito , Ecuador, but I am going to try to get into Peru before the semana santa celebrations start. I then fly from Lima to BAires on 18th April?

I am a historian, 50 years old. I live in Washington, DC. I can speak and understand some Spanish and French, and I am fluent in German. In Washington, where I live, I conduct historic walking tours. I would love to share with others exploration of the history, archeaology and culture of Lima and Cuzco. "Tourist" "sightseeing" does not interest me. I would happily sit outside a coffeehouse talking with Peruvians or visitors from other countries (not USA). Durante mi viaje espero que hablar mas espanol que ingles. It would be nice to rent a bicycle. I am not interested in romance of any kind, but I would like to make a friend or two in each city. Here is my schedule:
March 25-26 LIMA
March 27-29 CUZCO
March 29-31 LIMA
In both LIMA and CUZCO I stay at hospidaje SAMAYWASI. I have a reservation in my name. You may call me at the hospidaje or email me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If it is convenient for you, I would enjoy sharing a coffee with you and talking for a while.
