I guess there is a lot of people here in the same boat as me. Im a 22 year old girl and going to Australia in august for one year, and Im so excited! My plan is to go to Sydney first, where I have four nights booked at a hostell, and get a job and stay in Sydney for some months to earn some money before I start to travel around the country. Other than that I have no plans!
I need a place to live, I need a job, I need something to do in my sparetime, there is places to see and visit and so on.
What is your plans, how do you plan it, how are you living, how do you plan to get a job, what are you planning to do in Sydney, where do you plan to travel?
Lets share plans and experience to make it easier for everyone

I have a very similar situation, I'm a 22 year old guy, goin to Australia in July, I was supposed to be goin around India and SE asia for a few months before going to Oz, but unfortunate circumstances saw me lose my job about 2 months ago so i dont really have anywhere near as much money as I thought I would have, and then about 2 weeks ago the person who i was going with pulled out on me, but ive decided to go anyway.
I have a flight booked to melbourne, originally thought perth but I thought it might be a bit too isolated if I couldnt find a job.
And because my whole plans have pretty much changed in the last 2 weeks and I was in doubt that id be going that my plans are pretty none exsistant.
So I booked my flights like 2 days ago I have no idea where im going to stay, I have a lack of money so I will need to find a job straight away, build up my money then go travelling, maybe try get a second year visa if I don't do it all.
I don't think this will help you much, just maybe make you feel easier that there's others like you
Hello! I'm 23 years old, female - I'm heading into Cairns late Sept time!
Place to live - I'm sure you'll be able to sort out there and the job too - if you're not fussy, look for anything and everything, I've been told. I'm sure you'll pick something up!
As for things to do - the list is endless. I'm sure you'll be able to occupy your time somehow with all the snorkling, diving, national parks, botanic gardens, bridge climbs, sky diving, bungee jumps, bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants and most of all, people! It's what I plan to do!
TerryD - not having much of a plan sounds like the way to go. Bit more of an adventure! If you're unsure where to stay, book a hostel for a week or so then you could look at flat shares etc when you're there
