Wenwen1990 has indicated that this thread is about China

Im going to China and leaving from Brussels the 3th of July, Im there for a month and traveling to Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Lijiang, Shangri-la, Kunming, Guilin, Yangshuo and Shanghai.

I was wondering how hard it is to make new friends there. I;d love to meet new people and want to know what cafe's or places a lot of foreigners or chinese people come that are interested to talk.

Hope someone can give me some advice ;)

Hi Wendy,

It is very easy to meet new friends in China. All these cities have very nice hostels that are the best places to meet others.
As far as I am concerned, there has never been a country where I would have met so many nice people and have made such memorable friendships. People seemed to be more interested, open minded, friendly but still easy going than in other countries where you see backpackers.
Hostels are also popular amongst chinese tourists too, so you will be able to get to know locals and foreigners too.

Enjoy China!

china can be hard to travel because a lot of places, people do not speak much english. make sure you get the lonely planet travel guide before getting into china, and do not let chinese custom see it. they're confiscate it, apparently it's illegal in china. yangshuo is the best!!! i love that city.
