Quoting james

I hope you all know that Peter's real name is Rakesh, and he lives in Mumbai and not Melbourne!

LOL

By the way, if any of you users and members of Travellerspoint know how to program Coldfusion code, please let either Pete or me know. Things are getting slightly too big for us to handle both the updates as well as new idea development.

We're looking for people with at least a years experience and preferably more, but anyone can PM us about this if you want more info!

Cheers,

Sam

hiya, i received a few messages every day but the ''new'' ones that pop up are telling me about are from yesterday or previous, oh and i have the cookies set up so i never have to key in my name or pw..... oh and so far i haven't convinced work to chance to firefox, they said that with internet explorer they had more of support behind them !?! the problem is which ever system we use has to be used by the corporation and approved for all countries, ie here in Dublin we have 1300 people , we have branches in many more countries accorss europe, asia and usa, so they won't let me change yet !!!!

Ok, should be a little better now. Instead of only notifying people once per session, it will only pop up once per message. Still could be annoying though -- what do people think??

Peter

Wow. that's scary service.

Cheers for that Peter!

With regard to the popups etc, i'm not sure. Must admit that wasn't quite what i mean't, and it may be better to remove them altogether as they can get annoying. Not sure. On second thpought i'm wondering if it would make more sense to just get rid of the idea.

As an altrernative - as the msg centre thing on the LHS is always there, how about something simple like the text turns red if there's a new message? That way it's obvious, but unobtrusive and none of this flashing thing. And if it only goes for new ones since last time you entered the centre (i.e not all unread), it wouldn't keep doing it? Again, don't know.
