There's a movie that I saw years ago but I can't remember it's name. So I need your help.

It was a thriller from the mid / late 80's. The opening scene was a man leaving work at the end of the day and walking to his car in the carpark, and witnessing a woman being attacked. He came to the rescue of the woman and chased the attacker away. They kept in touch and over time they fell in love and started a relationship. My memory is a bit blurry, but what happened towards the end of the movie is that they were on a beach somewhere at night some years later, and the original attacker appeared seemingly out of the blue. He attacked the man, and what ended up happening was that the woman (his girlfriend) also ended up attacking him; her and her attacker were actually working together staging fake attacks and setting up people who came to the woman's rescue.

The movie ended with the the lady being "attacked" again in a carpark by this man, and another man comes to the rescue of her. The whole sequence starts again.

It was quite a good moive and I'd love to know what the name of it was so that I could get a copy of it. No doubt, if I did track it down and watch it I'd think it was a load of rubbish now but that's not the point!

Thanks

Was it an American film? It does sound vaguely familiar though can't put a title to it at the moment. :(

Was some kind of witchcraft / occult group involved in it? If so it sounds very much like a movie I remember and haven't come across since too. If I remember correctly it was called Spellbound. Or something similar - though it's quite possible I'm not remembering correctly!

That's it!!! It's called Spellbinder!!!

I have just ordered it on DVD and can't wait to watch it again, although I suspect that it might now be somewhat dated (but then again, so am I now).

Sorry for not responding earlier; I never saw this post. I actually confirmed the name of the movie on a "horror movie" website just recently.

Thanks again.

Ahh! Spellbinder. Not Spellbound. Thanks for that :) I expect that'll be why I've not come across it again - I've been searching under the wrong name! I'll have to go and have another look for it now myself!

Hope you enjoy it once it arrives.

Well the DVD arrived. I was right; it has dated somewhat. Still, it's good to see it again after all these years.

Thanks again harissa!
