I'm having a skiing holiday in Canada, flying into Calgary by charter plane from the UK, and staying at Lake Louise for 11 days, Sat 22/03/2003 to Wed 02/04/03.

I'm looking to stock up on winter clothes in Calgary, should be able to get some good prices being the end of the season. I'm wondering if anyone could advise what major stores I should look at in Calgary for good quality winter clothing?

Also, night life in Lake Louise, any recommendations?

The best place for good outdoor gear is the Equipment Mountain Coop. It cost 5$ Cad. to be a lifetime member. Wait until you walk in there... A skier's paradise.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look it up when I get there.

late reply i know, but i just found this site today. MEC is downtown Calgary, definitely the best store in the country for affordable quality and professional advice. as for night life in Lake Louise: if by night life you mean bars and meeting people etc., there is none. you will have to drive in to Banff (30 mins) where there is nothing but night life. Lake Louise is pretty small, just a few hotels and the rest is nothing but nature.
