diver79 has indicated that this thread is about Malaysia

Hi

I am hoping to send a package from KL to Newcastle, UK. Its dimensions will be 60x50x40 and it will weigh approx 10kg. Any idea how much it will cost? Or where I should look to find out?

Hi Diver,

It will cost you about MYR351.00 (approx GBP49.32) for sending the 10kg package via speed post (EMS) from Malaysia to UK. At this weight, it is cheaper to send via EMS than as normal airmail package as that will cost you MYR374.90 (approx GBP52.67). A 5% government tax will be charged for the service.

Please refer to http://www.pos.com.my/tariff/frametarif.asp
(The site is a little buggy. You have to refresh the page each time you want to do a new search of rates. BTW, EMS in Malaysia is called Poslaju, which literally means speed post. In Parcel Rates section, UK is being referred to as Great Britain.)

Cheers, :)

Sea mail post from M;sia to UK is very cheap. The prices depend on weight, there is a rate

for 1kg,3,5, 10kg. I cannot tell you the cost offhand as I am in England myself at the

moment, but it is cheap compared to Spore and Thailand. You can get the rates and send

parcels from the post office. Some are quite fussy in the way you prepare it,basically its

needs to be in a box with string around it.

Hi Diver,

It's a bit cheaper to use Fedex
They have a 10KG & 25KG box special package.
I checked from Malaysia to UK, it cost RM 310
Note : I'm not sure if this dimension will suit your need though.

You might want to check out the web.
http://www.fedex.com/my/tools/boxes.html?adobj=boxes&pgsrc=home&cc=my&language=en

I feel much secure to send using Fedex (have been sending things using fedex and they arrived safely).

The advantage is, get the box from Fedex, you can save time and worries on how to wrap your things the way is required by the POS Malaysia.

One important thing, please check with the Fedex staff on how to declare your invoice, otherwise, it will be stucked at the receiving country's custom clearance, which is the last thing you want to happen when you're sending something overseas.

Also, with Fedex web, you can track your package.

Hope this helps.
