Hi everyone,

Im moving to the US next month and I was thinking to start my life there with a 3 days bus trip from NY to LA.
Has anyone taken that Greyhound line?

Any tips or things to consider?

Can anyone tell how (un)confortable seats are? Three days is a hardcore stay inside a bus...

Im a girl and I may be travelling alone? Is it safe?

Thanks,

:)

Lapalo,
Honestly, you should fly NYC-LA. An advance purchase ticket will not be much more than a bus ticket plus food. Greyhound has nice seats, but 3 days on a bus? That is close to torture IMO! Plug in your dates and see what a flight costs. Good luck with your planning.

I agree with Vegasmike6. Torturous is a pretty good description of Greyhound within the USA. It's better in Canada.

If you are bent on a road trip across the states and want to see things, consider Amtrak (train) or a company like Green Tortoise (bus with sleeper interior). I know that will take a little longer, but USA is quite large and to see anything you'll have to spend more time than 3 days.

If you don't have the time, definitely fly and do a cross country trip some other time.

Thanks guys.

I was just loving the price of the ticket ($129).

Green Tortoise seems fine, though a bit more expensive for sure.
