Have posted before about Oz in October this year for 5 weeks and have made the decision to do Sydney for a week, internal flight up to Cairns and then travel back down the East Coast and back to Sydney.
Someone mentioned a firm called Oz Experience and have just had a quick scoot at their website which seems OK.They do a trip from Cairns to Sydney
Just wanted to know if anyone has used them and, if so, are they any good. I am travelling alone and wondered if I'm better off just to doing my own thing?
hiya, it might have been me that mentioned oz experience? anyway, lol, i would thoroughly recommend them but only if you want:
. to have everything arranged for you and have all the hassle taken out of travelling
. to hang around with loads of 18-25 year olds intent on getting pissed every night
if this sounds like your sort of thing then, yeah, go for it. if not, maybe try buying some kilometres with either greyhound or macafferty's. they probably appeal to more experienced and less "gapyear" oriented travellers. also, ozexperience claim to be jump on, jump off... they are, but only in the places that they actually stop! you cant jump off exactly where you want to unless they happen to stop there and, more importantly, pick up from there.
definitely a good option if you have only around 5 weeks though cos you'll get to see everything thats really worth seeing. make time for a 3 day 4wd camping trip on fraser island!! its an awesome experience. noosa and byron bay are also worth a few days each, as is airlie beach for the whitsundays and obviously sydnet itself.
hope this helps, have a great trip! joey
sydnet!! or sydney, perhaps! joey
