Hi - I'm from the US and I'm going to be flying to Amsterdam in the begining of March, and I have a couple of questions -
1. Does anyone know how long the process takes from the time you land, park at the gate, get through immigrations, get luggage, and get to the train area takes?
2. Also, I was wondering if anyone knows some of the best things to do in early March in and around Amsterdam?
Thanks for any help!
It shouldn't take you that long. Give it 30 - 45 minutes (but I don't think you'll need all of it, really). I was there a year ago and I had no problems and it didn't take long at all.
That estimate seems good to me. Immigration can be quite quick - I found it made little difference being an EU citizen. But these things can really slow down if there are a lot of large flights arriving at the same time though.
It's also a very large airport, so walking from one end to the other can take a while as can the wait for baggage.
The train area is just underneath the terminal, at the most 5 minutes away when you exit. Very convenient.
Thanks for the help you guys!
