Travel Forums System Talk Reporting members

Hi,

Can anybody delete this crappy member. He has been using different names and spam in guide, profile etc. I reported him over and over again, but nothing happens.

His first profile was probably deleted but this one not. It's about time his total IP adress is banned, because he annoys me!

Or otherwise: could more people check the reporting of members and maybe some can inactivate accounts (maybe temporarily, double checked by one of the overlords;)). Otherwise what is the use of reporting members or forum posts etc?

O, and maybe one could check the About: Getting started article and especially its travel helpers...popular among Asian spammers.....

Thanks

Michael.

Hey Michael,

I've been kind of pre-occupied with other things the past week or so here in Oslo, in addition of course to the new kid and it being the middle of my holidays :) But yes, more people should check these spam reports, as it does seem I'm the only one. I've axed him now, though it's a fresh ip address, so sometimes blocking those has literally no effect.

Originally the guide articles would let any wiki moderator remove a travel helper for each guide. Do you see a "Remove this Travel Helper" link under the name of each member listed there?

Hey Sam,

Thanks for the quick heads up. Totally understandable that you have been pre-occupied by other more important things. I know you are/were busy with those spamming and reporting, so that's why this forum post was mainly aimed at maybe interesting other people also to keep it as clean as possible, so that it's not only you doing all the work;). Of course, it's impossible to delete all spam, but as much as possible is nice. The forum is a good example of keeping things clean, as is the guide in general as well. Profiles and photos are a different thing, especially the photos which have no location tagged, as i don't go through them;)

I actually only see myself as a travelhelper which I can remove or edit. I checked the Morrocco article for example, and there are 35 travel helpers but only myself I can delete lol

I am a wiki guide moderator on the forum, but I guess this doesn't apply in the guide itself?

Cheers

Michael.

Hmm, maybe that function was removed, as I thought for sure it used to exist that every guide moderator could remove travel helpers. Will have to check the code there and see if that was reversed at some stage before it went live last year. There might have been a good reason for it that I can't remember now :)
