Right, in September me and my boyfriend are going off travelling around South East Asia and then onto Australia. On our way to Bangkok we are stopping off in Dubai for two nights. We are only going to have two full days in the city so I was wondering where is the best area/place to stay in to make the most of the limited time we have there? What are the best attractions to go and see? And what is worth avoiding? We obviously want a hotel very central to avoid wasting time travelling, but with all the destinations listed for different hotels I'm getting confused on where about we should stay.
(Sorry I didn't mean to post this in Africa and the Middle East. I have re-posted it in Asia, but have no idea how to remove it from here)
Actually, it's better here, as it's Middle East.
Of course, it's also Asia, but we have included the Middle East as a separate world region in the travelguide as well.
Also, because the bulk of questions is about India, China and South east Asia, we included the Middle East with Africa, as not to loose questions about less visited places in the bulk that is in the Asia forum.
The only thing I did now, is reporting the Asia thread as a double post, so it's going to be removed by the Asia moderator over there.
O,for your convenience I did will add the answer on the Asia forum:
first the hotle will highly depend on your budget but you can check this site for hotels:
as an advice find something close to the metro, using the metro is a bit time consuming, but that will give you a good chance to see the city and much cheaper than taxis.
by the way it should be hot in septemebr (so don't expect to stay outdoors during the day for long), but I would recomment you to see Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, the fountain, Jumeirah road and city, Dubai Marina, Dubai JBR, and if you have time the creek.
Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, the fountain are all in a single area.
Jumeirah road and city, Dubai Marina, Dubai JBR are about 20-30 mins from above
Dubai creek, 15-20 mins from Dubai mall but other side.
let me know if you have more Q, wish you a good time
