I'm a 19 yo guy looking to go for a gap year to England at the start of next year. I was wondering what is the best place to stay to work and play. I'm a muso so I'm also hoping the area I live in will have a great music scene for the singer-songwriter type (or anything else, I just LOOVE British music haha). Any suggestions???
The only place Ive been to in England was London, actually heading back over in October. It has a great music scene all around Covent garden and Leicster Square. Its one of my fave cities. If I was you Id try and stick with hostels as renting is expensive over there plus there is a load of taxes involved so if you stay in the hostel you wont need to worry about any of that. I have heard good things about manchester and liverpool too
i was thinking of doin a live in pub job which wud probably be even cheaper than a hostel
i wud love some opinions on brighton?? heard theres a heaps good music scene there. just not sure about london bcos i heard its heaps expensive to live there =/
Hey, I do love music and divings. When you are specifically landing to England, hopefully i will there in the starting of the year along with my friends. Do let us know when you will be there.
I'll be there mid-Feb at this point, subject to change though (haven't booked flights yet)
