Hello so I live in the US but I'm curious about the music scene in England. I'd love to work with a label out there eventually. What are some of the best places to live/get involved with music business?

Depends what you're interested in. Some areas have different scenes to others. North London is an obviously good place to be - being so big it covers all kinds of music. But there are many others. For example if you like folk/indie/twee kind of stuff then Brighton is good for all that - basically anything that's fashionable retro. If you're looking at rock music (which is my interest) then the midlands (Birmingham, Nottingham etc) is good, as is places up north such as Sheffield or Leeds. Many of the big cities have diverse music scenes, but if you're looking at labels and being in the thick of it then North London is really the place to be.

Thank you so much. I'm pretty diverse when it comes to music but I needed to know more about which cities have what. I appreciate it, this has been helpful!
