Hi All,

I'm travelling to SE Asia in september for 3 month then on to Oz for 6 month. Would taking a sleeping bag be advised or do i not really need one??

I would appreciate any advice :)

Cheers
David

I definitely wouldn't bother - I travelled in Oz and SE Asia for a total of 6 months and never regretted not having one. SE Asia is generally too hot to need one, and in Oz most places will not allow you to use your own sleeping bag due to the risk of spreading bed bugs. In both regions bed linen is provided and rarely is there a charge for it.

Have a look at this thread.

Hey

Sorry for the delay -

We have planned a few nights to stay in Bangkok and 2 weeks over xmas + new year in Manly, australia ... I would look into your stay for OZ as its booking up, we had trouble finding somewhere (or is that the 10 nights you have sorted?)

There are 4 of us in total - starting with 3 in Thailand

Can't wait to escape this shocking 'summer' weather in the UK!

Have you sorted anything? We know our rough route for SE Asia

Karen :)

PS. people have suggested a sleeping liner?? Not sure what to do about that, i wont be taking a sleeping bag, but i am thinking about maybe getting a liner ...

Hi

I took a silk liner to SE asia and used it a fair bit. Dont bother with a sleeping bag, you will be far to hot!! To save even more room a sarong will do just fine, you could buy a cheap one once your there aswell.
