Am going to Kerala in January for 3 weeks. :) Want to go to wildlife sanctuary with possibility of seeing elephants. I know about Periyar-is this the best option for me and where is a good place to stay in the area. Flying in to Cochin and travelling down coast to Trivandrum and then looping back up again and will be finishing off by staying at Dewalokam, at Karimannoor for 4 nights (this is the only place I have booked so far). BTW it will be 3 women ranging in age from mid twenties to 50 (2 of us are vegan) just in case any of this influences any thoughts you might have.
Grateful for any thoughts about anything to do with this trip.

Kerala itself a 'God's own Country' includes tremendous places that could be visited.
These include beaches of Kovalam and Varkala, wildlife and bird sanctuaries.

The major cities are:
Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode

You can never comlete your tour of Kerala without experiencing the kerala backwaters
So, go for it!!!!

Happy Journey..:)
