Driving from Santiago to Buenos Aires

Hi wondering if there are any travellers out there interested in joining me next year for a trip of a life time!
I am hoping to buy a car/van in Santiago to travel around in.
I have no strict travel plans so I will be taking my time to get to Buenos Aires.
I am very keen to here ideas for great places to go along the way and am flexible to anyone wanting to go to a particular location.
I have many other ideas to take my travels further than BA, but I don't like to plan too far ahead :)
Looking forward to hearing from fellow travellers.

wow! sounds great. We heard about an area in or near santiago where you can buy cars and avoid some of the horrific taxes in south america. can't remember the name of the area, if you aren't familiar hopefully you can find out more information. from talking with other who've done similar things as you are about it, it could save you a substantial amount of money.

yeah! =) Just trying to help. The are allows you to avoid some of the high taxes they have on cars in South America, so that is where the savings come from, not from the quality of the car =)

I'll message my friends in the area and see if i can get the name of the area.
