Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean Route from Argentina and back in 5 weeks???? please HELP

Hi All,
I am heading to South America next April. It has always been a dream and i'm finally doing it ... but i only have 5 weeks up my sleeve and i want to fit in as much as possible. I fly in and out of BA and am keen to include Argentina, Iguazu Falls, Rio, Cuzco and machu picchu, as well as the amazon if possible.
I was thinking its best to head up towards Rio first but am totally open to ideas and am happy to start heading in Peru direction if thats a better option???
Would love some ideas so I can start researching and planning an itinery. If you could provide best modes of transport from each destination to the next that would be AMAZING too!! And if i have forgotten any places that cannot be missed please advise.

Also, how safe is it travelling alone?
How much Spanish do you need to know?
What sort of budget would you need for the above with moderate spendings?

Thanks a bunch!!! Excited to hear you thoughts!:

Sorry misdify, I deleted the post you received probably as an e-mail notification. Yes, in your opinion, it did contain some useful links. Considering the poster is a newbie - such posts are looked upon as possible (and are usually) spammers. Such things are not allowed on TP in the open forums. Regardless, you received the information.

I have posted this comment so others know why they don't see the information you received at this time. If it all helped you - wonderful! That's what TP is here for, but we also get hit by quite a bit of spam so the moderators are quite selective. It's one of the reasons TP is the best and most informative out there.

Enjoy your adventure!
