of course live life with no regrets!! all sounds very exciting! and sounds like your doing it a good way!
I want to see the whole world tooo! Africa is definitely on the cards. I just think Australia is a starting point for my first solo travels and a place I can also work as a nurse and save lots more to fund the rest !

Yeah from what I have heard most backpackers seem to recommend Greyhound for travelling the East Coast so that is good enough for me! Sydney is the place I am looking forward to the most, I really am excited to get there. I have it planned to stay for a week but if I end up loving it could be a lot longer.
That sounds brilliant! I am actually starting my travels in February in New Zealand. So I will be in NZ for a month before getting my flight to Sydney. Then 2 months in Australia, then off to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam for a total of 5-6 months if everything goes to plan.
Then once I have finished that, I plan on going to back to Australia to find some work, build up some funds, and then maybe head to South America and the USA for a few months. I really want to see the Amazon!
Im also so excited! Time is going so slow it is ridiculous. Every day at work is spend day dreaming about Sydney and everywhere that I will visit. Im sure we will both get there!!!
You seem to be doing the exact same thing as me, slightly different times but i am going the same route.
Aus - NZ - Malaysia - Thailand - Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos - back to Aus to work then S.America!
I thought i may as well do it all in one go!
Yeah same this will be my first time travelling and going solo as well so I figured NZ and OZ would be the best places to start and build up confidence. Then on to South East Asia! But as long as I enjoy Oz, which I am sure I will, then I will definately return for some work. I can't wait to meet loads of new people!
It is great you have a skill as a nurse that you can use to get a job. I've spoken to quite a few people who have worked in Oz and they all had an awesome time.
Hey Alex, that is pretty cool, plus we have the same name ha! Same, I just wanted to chill for a bit without the pressure of work and then once I have built up my knowledge and confidence I will go back job hunting. I really can't wait to get started!
I found Oz to be very expensive, New Zealand was slightly cheaper, but a much more amazing country, and the whole of South East Asia is fantastically cheap and different!
yer i'm probably only going to spend about 4-5 weeks in Aus as i've heard it's pricey, then another month in NZ, i'll be paying about £30-£25 a night in aus as i'm staying there over xmas and new years!
Hi, I'm also travelling oz in febuary and I see your from west Sussex? So am I lol, small world.
What date are you heading out there? I'm going to Sydney on febuary the 8th
Can't wait : D
I'm flying to Thailand the 2nd of Feb then onto Sydney the 11th Feb. Traveling alone aswel & just going to see what happens when I get there not making many plans. Does anyone know the best hostels to book before you go to Sydney?
