My husband and I are from the US and we will be traveling to Vietnam sometime during our RTW (Nov. 2011-June 2012). Should we get our visa online now or just wait and get it somewhere in Asia? Is there a difference in price? Thanks for the help!!

Express visa to Vietnam can be arranged within a day, except week-end by any local travel agent. Costs may differ from one local TA to another as basically, there are 2 kinds of visa to Vietnam: (a) visa approval - stamped at VN Embassy abroad and (b) visa upon arrival - stamped on your arrival at the airport. I believe that the majority of local TA offer visa arrangement to Vietnam on complimentary as part of their service to the clients who book package trip through them.

Travel agent is US or abroad? So I can just fly to Vietnam without a visa and get one on arrival?

I suggest, you should contact to travel agent in vietnam, they will give you steps to get visa, it is much easier than going to VN Embassy in US (specially you save much time when do it online via travel agent). Normally it will take 3 or 4 working days process and it costs about 25 $ (or urgent process, it takes 1 working day to complete). Plus it costs 25usd for stamping fee on arrival day at airport in Hanoi and Saigon.

Sorry for the confusion if any .. I meant local travel agent in Vietnam. Visa procedure is quite simple and you just follow instructions given by that local travel agent.
