Hey everyone!

I'm hoping to buy a car in Cairns and go on wicked long road trip all the way down the East Coast and then onto Melbourne and Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road!!!!!! I'll be starting this on 22nd September (not long now!!!!) and reckon on doing it over 2-3 months. I'll be stopping off at loads of places I've heard are good and can't wait for the adventure to begin!

The point of this thread is that if anyone will be around at any stage of this journey, wants a lift and doesn't mind sharing petrol costs then let me know! We'll hook up on facebook and go from there! It'll be more fun than the bus I reckon and we can stop and check out anything we want on the way!
Boring people need not apply!!!!!

Anyways happy travels people!!

I think that is the best way to see Australia at your own pace.

A hot tip: Make sure you invest in some roadside assistance.

Whether you get 2 flat tires, run out of fuel, or catch fire you need to be able to access help. Especially if you decided to take an inland route rather than stick to the busy coast.

Most people in Australia use RACQ. It's cheap and Australia wide 24/7 - you can check them out here http://www.racq.com.au/motoring/roadside_assistance

You will be able to get membership in Cairns for like $80 - well worth it if you find yourself in trouble.

Cheers, Kyle

Hey mate, thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of that and it sounds like a sensible thing to do! Nice one!
