Hi all,

My name is Nat, I'm 24, currently live on the east coast of Australia & am starting planning for a Working Holiday to Ireland & the UK.

I plan to depart in May 2012 and will be heading straight to London, the plan so far is to Experience a bit of London & then head down after a week to some family friends in Exeter. I will be using Exeter as a base & travelling from here around Europe, This is where I become a little unstuck.

I was hoping to do a tour of some sort so I get an Idea of what countries I want to experience & what countries I am happy to settle having seen only the tourist traps.

I would love it if someone could share with me their experiences of working holiday visa's particularly in Ireland & just help me get my head around where to start, Plan the travel or plan the work.

Any help would be super fantastic, I just need help focusing my attention in one area, not everywhere at once.

Also I have a budget of $35,000 AUD just incase you needed to know.

Thanks in advance guys.

Nat

Little confused at the moment - are you looking at applying for a UK visa, or an Irish visa? You say your base will be Exeter (UK) but then ask about experiences of WHVs for Ireland.

Well, thats the thing...

I want to travel, & work in any place that I like the feel of & want to spend time in.

I will get my working holiday visa for the UK & travel around England first, I think there will be work available in London around the Olympics, and am keen to make a start here.

I can apply for my Irish working visa in London so was hoping after some time working & travelling I can then make my way to the Emerald Isle and work around Ireland.

I work in Hospitality, so I am sure of work even if it is minimum wage, most places.

When I say my base will be in Exeter, It is for mail, banking & storage purposes, & if I feel the need to see a familiar face I can always spend time there.

Hope this helps with your confusion, any suggestions, thoughts or recommendations?
