Have fun...take care, drink enough liquids, join others and do avoid walking alone for long distances. Watch your belongings. In some lodges there have been reported some thefts. (Not the lodge personnel but other "trekkers" have been suspected of petty theft and cheating.) Use your natural instincts when dealing with other foreigners or Nepalese strangers who do not seem to belong in that area. :)

Well I don't think its that unsafe like you say my friend. I'm going there this month and I think its gonna be fun and I have my friends who have gone there more than 4 times and they haven't reported anything like you mentioned. Ofcourse I agree to join others and avoid walking alone as you might get altitude sickness and you would obviously need some helping hands then. Apart from that I guess its safe.

And I wonder if you have ever been there my friend :P .... its Everest not Katmandu people might try to rip foreigners with expensive rates...not steal and all that. So far where ever I have travelled nothing like that has happened, it must be to do with individuals if you flaunt too much of cash...try to act like super rich ...I'm sure greedy eyes are gonna follow you.

Well to the one who's looking forward to everest ... have fun....enjoy the nature...and forget about everything else. And make new friends ...it helps.
