Two questions about travel

Travel Forums Asia Two questions about travel

1. Posted by eefsf (Budding Member 6 posts) 11y

ok i am planning my trip to china/asia. my question is about buying a roundtrip ticket from america. now the thing is i was wondering if it would be smart to buy a one way and the buy my ticket whereever and whenever i feel like going home.

since i plan to travel for atleast 2 or 3 months i don't know yet if i will want to travel to SE asia aswell as china or what but money is always a issue.

so is it hard to buy a ticket home for as cheap as i would get a round trip ticket from america as buying a short notice ticket from say Thiland.

second question,

I like photography, bringing a camara to china. Smart? or bad idea.
is it just like anything else i might bring just more fragile. do people target them to steal or is that just movies. does it make me a target implying i have wealth (that i don't really have). what do you guys think.
P.S. it is a cheap camara around $100 or so but it is all a manual and it is old. will it pick up alot of dust, and dirt. i have a ok case for it.

If you like photography bring your camera by all means. Just avoid taking it out in crowded places if you can (eg. Markets). By your description your camera is quite old, so it should not be too much of an eyecatcher anyway, but you can always make it look older by putting tape around it.
But if you don't display too much wealth (eg. expensive watch or such)there should be no problem.
Unfortunately I can't help you with the first question.

Not sure if this answers your first question or not... Anyway, it is possible to buy multi-stop tickets with the prices lower than each of one-way tickets.

Check this http://www.airtreks.com/

But even for this, seems you still have to be more specific about your route. I assume that the time can be flexible as you can always call to reschedule with the local office of the airline.

Buying a roundtrip ticket is always economical and some of the airlines offer best lowest price. Youc an add all destinations you think possible(but a destination should not be touched twice).Suggest you to discuss with your travel agent or airlines.Incase you want to visit any other destination that is not included in your round trip ticket, you can always buy such short distances ticket locally or at the nearest point of your place.Another advantage of buying a round trip ticket is that you can flyback home incase of any emergency avoiding to pay thehighest fare at that time.
Insome countries like China, fare fluctuates depending up on the season. It's higest during festival season like Spring festivals.

You can bring a camera to china and a camera is a must when visiting china as there are many beautiful places.Only when you have a Digital or Camcorder, your camera will draw the attention.Since you say that it is an old type, you don't need to worry.
