Travel Forums Europe HELP!! Advice for a 14 hour layover in London

Hi Everyone!
My sister and I will be traveling from USA to Africa in just under 2 weeks, so I need replies right away!!
We have approximately two 14 hour layovers in London. The problem is they are both at night and the airport is quite a ways outside the city. My sister is 20 and has traveled abroad before, I am 18 (female) and have not. When my sister travelled she was with a large group, so both of us are rather inexperienced (except for travel within the USA). So if ANYONE has any kind of advice on what we could do in that amount of time at that time of night PLEASE PLEASE let me know. Neither one of us wants to waste a chance to experience part of London!!! Or even if you have any good advise for 2 green travelers! (Other than the obvious ones about never leaving your bags and always keeping your passport/visa in a safe place). Thanks a bunch!!

hi there! Well It depends at what time you arrive in London. If you arrive in the afternoon you have time to go to see something, tube runs till midnight I think. Takes about 45 mins from heathrow to Piccadilly Circus/ trafalgar Square it would be nice!!

Well dress worm and take the tube in to the city. The maps for the tube are easy to read and use. When you get into the city just walk around. Big Ben is usualy lit up at night. Clubs and bars are good idea also.

They are a chauffeur company who offer tours of the uk. They did a short tour for a friend of mine who also had a long layover in london.
